Root Canal Therapy
A root canal therapy is a procedure commonly used to remove infected nerve tissues within the tooth. The procedure involves removing all infected nerve tissues and fills the canals with a filling material called gutta percha. The tooth normally requires a crown afterward to protect the tooth from fracture.
What are some of the reasons why you would need a root canal therapy?
Your tooth has gross caries that extended into the nerve, causing severe pain.
Your tooth fractured after some incidents causing exposure the nerve.
Your tooth has short clinical crown which requires a root canal therapy to put a post inside for a buildup.
You have a non-vital tooth which is non-responsive to hot or cold testings.
You have a big filling previously done and now it is causing you pain due to close proximity to the nerve.
